New in Malta? There are "Couchsurfing" events every week

what to do in Malta

If you have just arrived in Malta, or have been here for some time already, but would like to find some new people to hang out with, then there are a number of events every week you might want to check out. First of all, there's Open Mic night at Casey's bar in Gzira every Tuesday. Start at 8pm. Lots of people, nice small bar with cheap prices. And when you hear the word open mic, don't think of karaoke, but think of musicians, including one of the bar owners, playing, jamming there together. So if you have nothing to do on Tuesdays, that's what you should be doing. On Thursdays there's a Make Friends and speak English event. Currently at Me Lounge, but the place can change probably depending on the season. Organized by EnglishCafeMalta, you can find more information about it from their Facebook page. On Fridays there's the Couchsurfing Malta event where also people from around the globe gather. And the word Couchsurfing - don't take that too literally, not too many of the people in there are currently couchsurfing. Rather people living, working, studying, or just travelling here. This event take place either at Me Lounge in Spinola Bay (just up from Spinola Terrace), or during autumn/winter season, at Spinola Bay. For exact location for the week, see their Facebook page. On Saturdays you can go back to Casey's bar for another open mic night. The owners, Rich and Natalie, are very welcoming, and you'll be happy you checked it out.

These are just a few events for you to get started.
